Hand strength

Make a coin bank

Cut a slot in a clean container with adult help. Have your child pick up coins one at a time and push them through the slot.

Builds fingertip strength and careful release.

Kitchen helper

Follow a snack sequence

Choose a simple snack. Have your child say the steps, gather materials, spread, pour, and clean up with supervision.

Practices planning and completing a routine.

Writing

Write a fall bookmark

Fold a strip of paper and write a favorite book title, a short recommendation, and your name. Add a border or pattern.

Builds writing stamina and control in a useful project.

Fasteners

Teach a zipper check

Practice starting and pulling a zipper on a jacket or backpack. Ask your child to check that it is closed before moving on.

Supports dressing skills and self-checking.

Visual motor

Build a pattern path

Make a repeating pattern with leaves, blocks, socks, or small toys. Have your child copy it and make one for you to continue.

Works on spacing, visual attention, and flexible thinking.

Body break

Carry and sort

Carry a small basket of laundry or books across the room. Sort the items by person, room, or type, then return the basket.

Combines heavy work with organization.
